  1. Long ago the people in this townland had their own churns and barrels. A man the name of Hughie Whacker made all the churns and barrels for them. He worked at John Kearney's, Brackary beg, Manorhamilton, County Leitrim. He also used to make butts and firkins for holding butter. Long ago all the people made their own butter and sold plenty as well. They also sold the butter-milk and got a good price for it. He also sold churns and butts in in Sligo. They people long ago would start for Sligo at day-break with butts of butter and be back at dark.
