    As I was, one day, digging

    A Song (very old)
    As I was, one day, digging moss in the lee
    Said I to myself its a pity to see such a boxing young lad, digging moss in the lee
    I buttered my brogues, shook hands with my spade,
    And went to the fair like a boxing young blade
    I met with the Sargent
    He asked me to list,
    Arah! Sargent Agra!
    would you tif me your fist.
    The first thing they gave me, was an old rusted gun,
    And under the trigger, I placed
    my own thumb
    The trigger went off, with a hell
