  1. Customs and sayings peculiar in this locality.

    Dead Bell. a sudden sound in ear said to be an omen of some person dying
    Left ear warm. This is a sign some neighbor is talking bad about you. The right ear being warm is a sign some one is (-) well of that person
    Month's Visit. A bride is not supposed to visit the house she left on a day of marriage for one month afterwards. The day she goes back is called the TREAT SUNDAY for it is on a Sunday she pays this visit. Hats bought by to bridegroom as presents for bride and friends are called FAVOURS.
    Same family name carrying coffin. When a corpse is being removed from a house men of the same family name are selected to carry the coffin.
    Turf falling from fire. When a sod of turf falls from the fire it is said to be a sign that some one is about to come in.
    Fair days as calendar marks. Harvest Fair. The Harvest Fair Day (16th September) is a well known date here. Hay should be cut before the Harvest Fair. Tradesmen as tailors
