  1. This story was told to me by Mr Joseph McGloin an old man, eighty years of age, who spent his life in Tullaghan as a publican. His ancestors were big land owners around Tullaghan, long ago, but during the Penal Days, they lost their lands.
Joseph McGloin got the story from his grandfather - a very old man.
I got the self same story from Antony Farrell in 1922. Mr Farrell lives in Gubanna-Mena Buckode, Kinlough. His father was a great story-teller and lived to be a very old man (about 90 years).
