    disappeared across the road fence. After travelling a quarter of a mile she crossed the road before them. Between that and Brockey bridge she crossed the road at least three times. There was no bridge here at the time only steps. One of the expressed a wish that when they came to the steps they would get rid of her for it was believed at that time that ghosts could not cross water. In this they were disappointed as she crossed them many times before they reached their homes. The house of the man who questioned her was the first they reached. When he entered his house strange to say the mule broke her tying and knocks were heard at doors and windows. He was greatly shaken after his experience so he knelt down and said some prayers. He then regained his former courage and taking the tongs in his hand he went out of the house. He stood in a field convenient and called
