  1. Long ago there lived a very poor man in Glenade who had no turf. A neighbour told him to go to a certain field where there was a very old tree growing and to take it with (wh) with him. This old man was very glad to get it and he put it on the fire. It lasted months and when it was nearly burned a Cuckoo stepped out of a hole in it. Going out the door oh him he crowed three times. He went to the place where the man cut the tree and died there.
