  1. There is a hidden treasure in a field owned by Dan Commins. It is in the parish of Mountbellew.
    An attempt was made to unearth it. A man came to this person while he was asleep and told him to go to this place on a certain night and bring another man with him. When this night arrived the man went to where the hidden treasure was but as he wanted to get all of the gold himself he did not bring the other man. When he arrived he was glad that the hound which minded it was not there.
