  1. The door
The door was narrow, full and long. There was a little wire gate outside the full door to keep out the fowl.
    The bed in the kitchen.
There was a bed in the kitchen and there was a place cut in in the wall for it. The old man and woman usually slept in it.
    The light
There was no lamp, no candle or matches used long ago but rushes were dipped in grease or tallow and lit. They had a 'griosat' for dipping rushes. They had a rush candlestick. They lit bog dial and it gave very bright light.
