    Long ago the people made leather from the skin of a cow.

    Long ago the people made leather from the skin of a cow. This was done by steeping the hide in lime and water for many days, it was then taken out the hair was pulled of it. Then it was hung out to dry and when it was dry oil was rubbed in it to keep it soft. It was then used as leather. Sheep
