  1. Fairy Forts and Fairy hills are very common in this district. There is a fort in Gortaganny. It is oval in shape and there are two dykes around it. It is said that in the outside dyke there were stakes and spears sunken in the ground to prevent the enemy from jumping across. It is also said that in the inside dyke there was water and a drawbridge across.
