  1. Cluáin Fuárán
    There are two townlands in the parish of Moylough called Cluan Fúarán because there is a big meadow with a spring-well in the centre, in each town-land.
    Sliabh Slieve
    is a small village on the north side of Moylough and is called after a hill near the village.
    Annachmór Annaghmore
    is called after the big bog or marsh near the village.
    Tom Ree
    is so called because it is said there is a tom of bushes belonging to a king growing there.
    Ceann na bó
    is so called because there is a hill the shape of a cow's back near the village.
    Daite- Geata
    is so called becuase there is an unusual number of gates in the village
