    fire. The blacksmith makes a lot of implements such as ploughs, harrows, gates, hammers, axles, spades, "S" crooks, chains, grubbers, hoes, slanes, rims, hasps and linch-pins.
    The instruments the blacksmith uses are the fuller, stamp, pritchel, hardy, tool box, hammer, pinchers, rasp, flatter for rounding and finishing of iron, buffer, heel buffer, set hammer, top swadge, bottom swadge, bob punch, flat punch, square punch, Tramel for measuring tyres, horses for making gates, dogs for gripping red tires, top fuller, bottom fuller for drawing irons, creasor, stocks, tops vice, gouge, tyres bellows, compass, ratchet, breast-drill, callipers, dice-screw, plates, man-drills, bolsters, floats for axles and the devil and tie iron.
    The fuller is used for shaping axles, the pritchel for holding red shoes, the stamp for making holes in the shoes, the tool-box for holding all the instruments, The hammer for driving nails, the rasp is used for filing hoofs, set-hammer is for shaping shoes, top swadge for rounding irons into shape, the flater for rounding and finishing irons,
