  1. One frosty christmas there was great frost on the lake. There lived a man and his wife and six daughters, in Giorranban. One of the girls was married. In the morning early the girls went down to the lake sliding. One of the girls went out on the lake before the others, and the ice broke and she sank to the bottom. One of the others saw her and she called to the others. One after another they came to save her but the ice broke and they all sank to the bottom. Every six years a white horse appears. One day a man was passing by the lake and he saw a white horse he had a horse shue in his hand he walked down and caught the horse and tied the horse shue around her neck. He brought the horse to Litterfrack, to get shues on her. About month after that the horse stripped off the shoes and off he made to the lake so from that day to this the horse was never seen again.
