- There was a man living in Renvyle and his name was Salmon. One night he was going down to the shore cutting wrack. H
He was going down an old road behind the Renvyle Hotel when he heard the men talking and heard noise like as if they were cutting wood. He thought it was some of the other lads that were going down before him.
When he went on another bit he saw a horse and cart and there was a load of timber in the cart. He went on another bit he saw another horse and cart.
He went on until he came to the wood and he couldnt see anyone in the wood. When he found there was nobody in the wood he got very frightened
When he went to the road next morning all the trees were beginning to wither. There is scarcely a live tree in the wood now.
