There is a rock in Omey near "St. Fechins well," and there (are) steps of diamonds cut into the rock and it is said that there is gold buried under it.

It is said that Brian Boru came to Ard Oileán to St. Gorm Gall patron St. of Ard Oileán before the Battle of Clontarf to get confession and that the water of the blessed well there turned to blood after Brian Boru was killed. The jumpers dug a drain from the well but the water would not move.
