  1. In the penal days when priests were not allowed to say mass there was a mass rock at Dooneen. Near the place where the mass rock is there is a rock with the foot of our Lady and a lamb's foot. father mathew said mass at Dooneen in the penal days. There is a cave at Dooneen also where Father Mathew used to hide. Near the mouyj of the cave a rosary beads was found. it is said that their were Father Mathew.
    There are stamps now with father Mathew on them.
