  1. One day there was a big sailing boat coming in Clifden Bay. She had to anchor outside until the tide came in. For she had a very big load of cement in bags. While she was lying at anchor a storm arose and the tide was half in at the time so the captain lifted anchor and tried to steer her in to the harbour but when she was half-way in she got stuck in the sandbank and the crew had to throw all the cement out in the sea.
