  1. Long ago when the people used to believe in fairies stealing babies and brides there lived near Clifden a noggin maker who used to live alone and sometimes used to go out in the country and on the moors trying to sell some noggins. One day while he was going out on the moors a wedding took place in Clifden. The bride was very beautiful and the fairies wanted to steal her but they could not steal her without some human witness.
    So the fairies held a meeting to see who would they enchant and one of them selected the noggin maker out on the moors
