- When the stars are twinkling it is the sign of frost. When swallows fly high it is the sign of good weather and bad weather when they fly low. When blue light is in the fire it is the sign of rain. When a mountain far away is seen it is the sign of bad weather. When a cat scrapes the leg of a table or a chair there is a storm to come. When a dog eats grass it is the sign of rain. When a cat puts her paw over there is a flood to come in three days. When red is in the West it is the sign of good weather, and when it is in the North it is the sign of bad weather.
