    After a few moments after a big magpie landed on his shoulders. Dan put back his hand and caught the bird. When he got into the city he called for a glass of whiskey. "What sort of a bird is that you have," said the woman. "Oh that is a bird that tells me everything. " said Daniel. So he gave the bird a pinch. "What did he say now," she said. "He said that was a bad glass of whiskey you gave me. Give me another." So Daniel got another. He gave the bird another pinch. "What did he say now. " "That is middlen". So he got another. The bird said nothing this time. "What do you want for this funny bird," said the woman. "£200", said Daniel. "Alright" she said giving Dan the money. He went home drunk that night. He told his brothers to kill their bullocks and they would get a great lot of money for the hides. So they did and sure they only got a few shillings for the hides. "We will kill Daniel this time", said they.
    They got up in the middle of the night and went to the house. But who would they kill but Dan's mother. in the morning when he got up he got a shock. He brought his mother to bury her. It was a very cold morning so he went in to a public
