    clothes were taken out of the water they had a green colour.
    For brighter colours dandelions and butter-cups were used in the dyeing of the clothes.
    In the forge all implements such as gates, ploughs, fire-cranes, harrows and shades are made.
    Thatching is an old craft which is carried on frequently in the district.
    The burning of lime in kilns is very common, there are three or four lime-kilns in the district.
    Spinning is an occupation which some people carry on in this locality The women send the wool to the mill and get it back in rolls, they weave/spin these rolls into thread l which is knitted into stockings, jumpers and other things These articles can be dyed any colour
