If these people meant to settle there, for more than a dry summer season they would want more shelter: So they would build a circular wall of stones or sods around the fire place or hearth . And experience would inform them of the need of a hearth or stone foundation to erect the fire on so that a draught of air would hit the base of the fire.
In the circular wall they would have an entry for doorway. Then they would have to provide a roof to shelter them from the rain and put a hole in it to let the smoke get up and out.
But this would be a very smoky house and so the chimney came.
In precess of time the house would be divided internally by a curtain on wall for the female members of the family and the male members . And this idea developed gave us rooms for houses .
