  1. It is not right to give away milk in (May) May day. The reason why is that you would be giving away milk for the whole year.
    It is not right (to give) to give away the first churning of a new calfed cow. For fear you would give away your butter. It is not right to give away money on New Years day or you would be giving out money for every day in the year. In the Spring time, when a farmer is sticking his potatoes it often happens that there is a piece of a ridge left unstuck and it is sure sign that one of the family will die before the end of the year.
    When a person is walking through a churchyard, if he fall it is an old saying that he will die before seven years.
