  1. The most harmful of the weeds growing on our farm are the nettles and the dockleaves, because they spread rapidly and impoverish the soil.
    Another weed known as the thistle grows only in rich good soil, but it impoverishes it. Heath and rushes and sedge grow only in bad poor land and they have no feeding properties.
