- (continued from previous page)There is a fairy fort in Carrenderry and it is situated north of the Ballyroe school and it is called a "liss" because there is only one mound surrounding it, and the chief next in rank to the king lived in there, and there is an entrance hole through the mound about three yards in width
There is a liss in Lisrivish and it is circular in shape with a sod fence surrounding it and a dyke outside the fence, which was filled with water when it was inhabited and the chief next in rank to the king lived in it.
The liss in Lisrivish is in view of two others and they are built in position so that they could signal from one to the other on the approach of the enemy.
The Lisrivish fort is on a farm and at the time of its division a mearn fence ran through the liss, afterwards a man levelled his own portion of the fort and afterwards crying used to be heard and lights(continues on next page)- Collector
