  1. Local Song (continued)

i am poor Thomas Duff now

    (continued from previous page)
I'd like to rise to fame
The only place to plant me
    is in Carroll's old domain
    X
Now when Duffy made the bargain
    He was not feeling well
Nine shillings was the bargain "Begorels" I'll thresh it well
    XI
Now when Duffy came to thresh the oats
The air was bright and clear
But the echo of his bolcheen
    No Meelick man could hear
    XII
    But to conclude and finish
I have no more to say
But I hope this gang will never meet
    Until the Judgement Day.
