- Home Districts.Pollynoon.The name of the townland I live in is Pollynoon. It is in the parish of Templtogher, and in the barony of Ballymoe. There are five families in the townland. The houses are thatched. Pollynoon got its name form the Irish Poll Ui Nuanain, which means the place of the Noones. There are five people over seventy years in the village. They can speak Irish. There are twenty houses in ruins in the village. Nearly every one emigrated from the village to America or England. The land is good, but hilly. Killdaree lake, which is about three miles around it, is joining the village.Written by.Willie Higgins.Told by Martin Higgins (farmer) Pollynoon.Pollynoone, Williamstown, Co. Galway.Age - 56
