- Folklore: PotatoesMost of the people make ridges. They make the ridges with ploughs. Long ago they used to have wooden ploughs. There is no wooden ploughs now. They cut the potatoes and they have an eye in every slit. Then they put them in a box and put lime on them. They leave them there for a few days. They put them in a sticking bag and stick them with a spade. They cover it with soil. Then they plough the dyke and put the mould upon the ridge with the shovel. Long ago they used to mould them with the spade.Teller: Mrs. Fahy
