  2. Roads
    Long ago the time of the famine the people used to make roads. The women used to make them also. The wages they used to get was a penny a day. They used to make footpaths through the fields and have bushes marking the place where you would have to turn. There was also heaps of stones at crossroads marking the place where someone was buried. There is an old man buried in the hills of Cortown, Dunmore
