- There dwelt in this vicinity three landlords long ago. They were known by the names of :- Mr Ronann, Mr Roe and Mr Barrett. Mr Ronan lived in Flaskagh House, Dunmore Co. Galway. He had about fifty tenants and he was very severe on them. If he asked them working and they not to come he would threaten eviction or have them punished severely. Mr Roe was a Protestant gentleman and a magistrate. He lived in Beagh Lodge williamstown, Co Galway. He had about forty tenants in his estate He was a landlord for his life time.
