My father told me this story. He told me he went to see it when it happened. The Winter of Nineteen Hundred and Five was a very severe Winter. It happened in the Month of February. One night about midnight all the people were awakened by a great noise. It happened in Ballygar in the village of Mountmary. When all the people got up, all the land was covered with bog.
