    Once upon a time there lived a prince who was very rich and had a great palace. There was a fairy woman living in a small house near his palace. This woman grudged the prince his riches. She could work magic and so she put a cow's head on the man. She told him that he would not get his own shape again until some lady would give her consent to marry him. She knew that no girl would like to marry him on account of his head. One day a girl and her father were going to a distant country. When they were going near the palace the
