The city of note & fame,
I spied a nice young man
    A courting me he came
    2.
He had red & rosy cheeks
And his eyes as black as a sloe,
And he'd break the heart of any young girl
    No matter where he'd go.

In search of my love I'll go,
I'll search for my own true love
    Through sunshine rain & snow.
    4.
And if I fail to find my love
I will sit down & cry
And why should I forget the thoughts
