“Down in Galway city, the city of note + fame ...”
1.
Down in Galway City,
The city of note & fame,
I spied a nice young man
A courting me he came
2.
He had red & rosy cheeks
And his eyes as black as a sloe,
And he'd break the heart of any young girl
No matter where he'd go.
3.
Then I'll cut off my yellow locks
In search of my love I'll go,
I'll search for my own true love
Through sunshine rain & snow.
4.
And if I fail to find my love
I will sit down & cry
And why should I forget the thoughts
Of my bonny young Galway boy(continues on next page)- Collector
