  1. In the district of Loughrea many treasures were found these late years. They were hidden since the time of the Danes. When the Danes went from fort to fort, they hid the plunder they got and some of these hidden treasures are being found now.
    In Danesfort a few miles outside Loughrea, a water pitcher enfolded by a rope for ease in carrying was found. Bedstead were also found.
    Long pins rather like hat-pins only stronger, were found outside Attymon, also
