  1. In almost every district in Ireland certain days are looked upon as being lucky or unlucky.
In our district Monday is called "Hanshell day". It is said if you give away anything any on Monday you will be giving away for the week.
It is the custom also to get married on Wednesday or on Tuesday as these two days are considered the two luckiest days marriage.
Thursday is Market day in our district. It is the best day for business such as buying and selling.
