    That city of great fame
    My parents reared me tenderly
as many of them know the same
I being a bold United Boy
    They sent me far away
for seven years to New Sou Wales
    To wear the convict chain
I was no longer than six months
    at the Australian shore
I turned out a bold Fenian Boy
    As I often did before
We had McNamara in young green woods
    and Captain McKay too
These were the chiefs' associate with
    bold O'Donohue

    of Bold O'Donohue
As O'Donohue was walking one evening afternoon
