    We're sorry for to tell
    We regret to say he's in his clay
    Our noble brave Parnell.
    For sixteen years without dread
    He fought for Erin's shore
    But now alas it has come to pass
    Brave Parnell is no more
    In the time of need he sent champion seed
    And oats that we could sow
    When distress was great he sold his estate
    To serve this country.
