  1. St Martin's Day is on the 11th November. There are many customs done in honour of St. Martin. Everybody kills a cock or goose for St Martin's Day. If a person had a sick beast long ago it was a custom to cut his ear and kill him for St Martin's Day if he lived.
    A mill is never worked before twelve o'clock on St Martin's Day. Some people do not work horses before twelve o'clock also.
