    The English used locally is that of the 16th century
    Phrases still used-
    Ne'er a one, e'er a one
    I'd as lief he wasn't there
    Come up timely in the morning
    It is there forby you (=near you)
    Fornens't you
    Troth then he wasn't there; he would in troth
    Give me his directions (=address)
    The tree was very gross (=thick)
    He is a very ill person (= bad-tempered)
