    The Devil in the Dance-hall
It is said that in a certain dance-hall one time ago the devil appeared to the people. All the people were smartly dressed but among them was a lo young lady who wore a gown of the richest silk. The dance was about to begin when suddenly the door opened and a young gentleman walked in. He crossed to this young lady and asked her to dance with him. She gladly gave her consent and danced with him many times during the night. He did not dance with any of the other ladies and noticing this, she got a great opinion of herself and scorned the other ladies.
She was dancing with him for the last time that night when a young man let a cigarette fall and as he stooped to pick it up he happened to glance at the man's feet and noticing that they were cloven, he spoke of it to the young lady. Just then the man arose into the air taking the roof on his back and leaving the girl stuck to the floor.
