  2. Some years ago an old man named Bowes Daly lived in Dalyston. He possessed about ten thousand pounds. When he was about ninety years old he began to think what he would do with his money when he would die. It was the time of the Black - and Tans and he was afraid they would rob him.
    He arose early one morning and put his money and jewelery into an iron pot and buried it deep down in the ground near the tomb where his brother was buried. He was a very foolish man and he began to think that when he would die the gold
