  1. Long ago some people used to never wear boots or shoes, winter or summer. At present all the children go bare-footed in summer.
    When people was their feet they usually throw out the water. It is a custom that if they did not throw it out the fairies would come in. There are no shoe makers in this district. People mend their own boots and shoes.
