    Place-names:-
    (a) (Breacaire): do called because there are innumerable hillocks overgrown with frieze and heather and goose and because of stones and rocks scattered here and there.
    (b) Cappagh. (Cappach): which means a little hill.
    (c) Nutgrove. (Cnó-Coill): so called because there are a lot of hazel trees growing there.
    (d) Flower Hill: because it is suitable for flowers and it is inclined towards the south.
    (e) Kilcorban. (Cill-Corbáin): so called because Saint Corban founded a church there, early in the eighteenth century.
    (f) Poultaloon: (Poll-Talmhan): so called because it is low land with rising ground around it.
    (g) Ballyleen: (Baile-an Lín): so called because there is flax growing there. The women of the houses make their own linen.
    (h) Ballyglass (Baile na Glaise): so called because there are a lot of green fields in the townland.
    (i) Kylemore. (Coill-Mór): so called because of the big wood that is there.
    (j) Killeen. (Cillín): so called because of the little church
