    November day has dawned upon the slopes of Newbridge green.
    What means that stately structure, where in its midst has seen,
    'Tis the National league platform, and despite coercions gloom, A people's voices will, there to-day, resound the Land-lords' doom [?]
    II
    But as the day advances, what sounds are those we hear,
    Which raise the heart and stir the blood and cheer love in the air,
    'Tis the strain of Irish music from out the mid-day air,
    And the ringing cheers of men's resolve fowl slavery's bonds to tear.
    III
    And despite the days in clemency, and Balfourd's tyrant code,
    O! see the grand contingents, that move in by every road,
    Till several thousand persons in a swimming mass do stand,
    For to demand in triuphant tones the freedom of our land.
    IV
    Brave John Dervan takes the chair, the honest and the true
    Who never from his post did flinch, when there was work to do,
    But gallant Harris is the star, which by his powerful ray
    A gloom of fear and doubt dispells from o'er each face to-day.

    In a voice of thunder he proclaims "that land lordism must go
    And the grazier too, who ruined our land must be
