    It is in the parish of Abbey.
    It is in the barony of Leitrim. There is a song connected with it called "Sweet Ballygown.
    It is about the evictions of Ballygown.

    For the rights and the wrongs of our country to hear
    In the days that are passed they drove us away
    From our dear cots in Ireland far over the sea.
    Its well I remember, when I was but a boy.
    To hear my poor mother, how sad she did cry
    When her husband refused the rent to pay down.
    Evicted we were them from "Sweet Ballygown".
