  1. 1. The famine was in the year 1847. That is ninety one years ago. The potatoes failed. People say that the potatoe crop the year before was very plentiful.
    They didn't turn them at all
    The buds grew out about a yard through the pits. People say that this might have been the cause of the famine.
    2. During the time of the famine people were not able to pay for coffins themselves so they got the people to join for the coffins.
    3. There was a man living in Upper Ballygown who had a hump on his back. He died and when
