  1. 1. In Abbey there is an old tree. It is about a hundred years old. It is called the popular tree. There is a little stream running in front of it.
    2. There was a man passing by one day on horse back where the tree is now, he was giving his horse a drink at the river. The ,man had a stick of a popular tree in his hand.
    3. The horse began to leap and flung the man off his back and killed him. The stick the man had in his hand stuck in the ground.
    4. It grew up to be a big tree. The man was a stranger. It is about seventy feet tall, and has a
