    lodging in a house for that night and began his journey next morning. About one o'clock that day he reached his destination.
    When he arrived Father Matthew was not there and he started for home again that day. The following day he reached home but Father Matthew was in Loughrea before him.
    John Kilcar who lived in the townland of Allygoola in the parish of Ballinakill was a strong man. He carried on a plough on one shoulder and a common harrow on the other.
    He carried them a distance of about a quarter of a mile without a rest. He is now dead.
