But we are more up to date now with our school house because we can go wet or fine days and we will be in the school when the hedge schools were going on the children could not go on wet or fine days for they would have no shelter from the rain. Long ago the children would have to bring two sods of turf each for the people that time had to bring no creel of turf.

  2. Loughatorick school is about one mile and a half from my house.
    It is situated on the side of the road it is 75 years built.
    This school was erected built in 1863 and it is a very good one yet but it was repaired in 1930.
    Before this school was erected there was no house for either teacher or for children.
