  1. The severest storm that those of the present generation can remember was the storm of February the 26th 1902. The cattle were killed in the stables, because the roofs were blown in.
    Sheep were killed along the walls, and under cocks of hay. Trees fell in hundreds, but fortunately, not many lives were lost. Slates were blown everywhere, and the houses were even knocked. It was a western gale, it did a great lot of damage.
